In our previous article we provided a general overview of the opening of DEA’s new production hub in Italy. Let’s take a closer look at the specifics of this investment.
DEA - An intelligent Factory
After committing to the innovations set out in the ‘Impresa 4.0’ national plan, DEA has chosen to invest in the best technology currently available on the market, with a view to creating an intelligent Factory.
What does that mean?
It means that DEA has sought out innovative solutions for connecting machinery, resources and people in the new manufacturing environment and throughout the production chain. This therefore means a completely automated facility, with an even stronger system of product quality control.
DEA thus confirms its focus on the demands of the global market, at a time when raw materials and energy resources are in serious crisis, offering a comprehensive product range and total reliability in its production capacity.

DEA and the fourth industrial revolution
The challenge of the fourth industrial revolution lies not in replacing humans with machines, but in allowing people and digital systems to communicate with each other.
DEA has therefore been strongly in favour of its Technicians developing new and specific skills, in order to acquire greater flexibility and problem solving abilities throughout the entire production process.
While the new automated technologies improve the production process, they nonetheless necessitate the adequate training of staff.
DEA’s view is that the challenge of the digital transition can be successfully tackled through skills and the training of professionals who can then take a leading role.
Founding the New Hub
The aim of DEA’s investment in a new production site is to become a world leader in the manufacture of workshop furniture and for top-of-the-range industry.
Historically, we have positioned ourselves at the higher end of the market and our buyers are the world’s leading car manufacturers and major players in global industry. Rather than investing abroad, DEA has chosen to remain in Italy, a country whose technical skills and expertise in terms of industrial design are among the most valued and respected in the world. Through its synergy with the Italian government and numerous players in the Marche region, DEA has been able to create a production site that stands as a world-leading flagship in the world of industries specialising in high-end furniture.
It is the greatest investment DEA has made so far.
