KIA Service in Qatar: a uniquely ambitious DEA project
A set-up designed down to the last detail, overcoming several obstacles along the way. DEA has successfully made a workshop for the “Al Attiya Motors” KIA service, the new north star of the Middle-East.
In 2016, the Al Attiya Motors dealer in Doha, Qatar, asked DEA to come up with a sensational project for the part of its business dedicated to the workshop. They wanted a workplace that was completely outside the box, and remarkably large.
Today, Al Attiya Motors is one of the 5 main automobile industries in Qatar: it provides world-class customer service and works with well-known industry brands, encompassing cars, trucks, building equipment, lubricants, and tyres.
The project: a very large, one of a kind workshop
The client wanted to create a KIA centre like no other in the world when it came to size, solutions and prestige, which is why they wouldn’t - and couldn’t - settle for a standard set-up for their workshop.
The client’s main demand was to have the work stations installed right in the centre of the workshop, instead of along the walls, in order to exploit as much of the available space as possible and obtain dozens of stations. However, this meant that integrating fluid and power lines would become very problematic, as we couldn’t rely on any walls along which to run oil pipes.
This is how we solved the problem and made a workshop complete with all mod cons.

The final compositions are unique, designed down to the smallest details and never duplicated elsewhere: a perfectly set diamond.
The absence of support walls was not a problem: DEA designers came up with a solution in which the various working stations are connected by a structure that is apparently simple, but very effective for fluid distribution.
The workshop equipment selected to make up the work stations require no support structure; the stations will always remain firmly anchored to the floor, without any risk of tipping.
Lastly, the colour customization: the dark grey structure and red worktops, colours that are also present in other Service areas , are a perfect match for KIA’s brand identity, and provide the different environments with well-defined personalities.
Attention and precision down to the last detail
Such an ambitious project also requires maximum care during installation, and not only in the design phase.
DEA technicians followed the installation works on-site for a whole month, to make sure every single part was installed perfectly and to guarantee that all systems functioned perfectly.
All ideas are feasible if you have an experienced and highly competent partner at your side.
