This article will look at the relationship of loyalty and mutual respect that we have built with Ireland’s biggest car dealership group: the Joe Duffy Group.
That such a major company recognises and appreciates the quality of our workshop furniture modules and the services linked to our furnishing is a source of great pride, and we would like to share the reason for this loyal relationship that has lasted over 7 years.
A brief history of the Joe Duffy Group
When, in 1970, Joe Duffy and Bill Thompson first set up a small garage with petrol pumps on the forecourt in Dublin 11, they could never have imagined it would be the start of a success story that would last for more than 50 years.
Their approach to the customer and the services they offered were pioneering, and when they installed the first electric car wash in Ireland it was clear they were well ahead of their time.
Today, led by CEO Gavin Hydes, the Joe Duffy Group is Ireland’s largest retail motor group, with 17 brands, 21 franchises, 22 nationwide locations and 610 employees.
DEA and the Joe Duffy Group - Gaining customer loyalty
In 2015 we were contacted by the Joe Duffy Group concerning their need for a complete refurbishment of their Dublin Porsche Centre workshop space.
The Group was looking for more than just technical furniture: they wanted one-of-a-kind furnishing, which would combine functionality, attention to detail and customisable furniture modules.
The DEA Team’s innovative approach, comprehensive support and turnkey service were a pleasant surprise for the client, exceeding all their expectations by supplying functional solutions for their work spaces.
When a customer trusts our expertise, they choose to be guided with support that includes:
- visiting the customer’s location to get a clear picture of all operations to be carried out in the work environment
- consulting the customer to understand their aims and to select the best furniture modules to meet them
- creation of a 3D rendering as a preview of the final furnishing
- virtual presentation to the customer
Following these steps, and once the project has been established and approved, we proceed with making the furniture modules at our Italian production hub.
And that's not all. One of the many services we offer to customers, and one greatly appreciated by the Joe Duffy Group, is our turnkey service. Our team of specialised experts carry out every phase of installation with meticulous care, including training operators to allow them to get the full benefit of the selected furnishing, worry free.
DEA completes and installs design-led modules for workshop furnishing, with a service that includes:
- transporting the modules using special suction cups in the installation phase
- assembly of the modules
- installation of the furnishing in the workshop
- training operators in the use and maintenance of the modules
- testing i.e. final demonstration of operation

After sales care for Joe Duffy
Once the Porsche Centre installation was complete, the owners of the other Joe Duffy Group locations were able to appreciate the work done by our Team.
This led to DEA installing 5 further workshop layouts for some of the Group’s other Centres, located across Ireland, including Jaguar, BMW and Audi dealerships.
The Joe Duffy Group's satisfaction in the service provided was such that a relationship of trust and mutual respect was created between DEA and the Group, who share the same passion and care for the needs of the customer.
